Witnesses report an explosion in the garage about the time the fire started.  Rosewood Heights Fire Protection District Fire Chief Tim Bunt told Fox2 News this morning the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

Bunt says a mother and her adult daughter were in the house when the fire broke out, got out, and went back in to try and rescue their dogs.  The daughter suffered smoke inhalation, and both were taken to Alton Memorial Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
