The dry conditions have resulted in burn warnings around the metro area, and it now includes a ban on burning in Jersey County until further notice. The Jersey County Sheriff’s Office issued the release earlier this morning after three fires got out of control over the weekend that lead to damage.

Late last week, Madison County Emergency Management issued a warning about an elevated fire danger due to the dry and windy conditions, and low humidity, encouraging residents to curtail burning of yard waste.
St. Clair County issued a ban on burning until April 1st due to the ongoing threat of wild fires.
