Police in South Roxana took one man into custody following a fire at his home on Wednesday that police say was connected to his alleged manufacturing of meth.  The 33 year old is expected to face felony charges, while a nearby in-home day care was evacuated as a result of the fire and dangerous chemicals at the scene.

Fire fighters were called to the home in the 1300 block of Golterman Street to the report of a fire at a detached garage around 3pm Wednesday.  Police were called to the scene as well, once fire crews determined an alleged drug operation and the discovery of meth making materials.   A home day care was evacuated at the residence as a precaution, which authorities later determined was operating on an expired state license.  The man, who has not yet been identified, was being held on outstanding warrants at the Madison County Jail.
