Hours of operation will be reduced this fall at several state historic sites. Illinois Historic Preservation Agency Spokesman Chris Wills says because of budget reductions made by the legislature this year, they will have to close some sites early and go down to four days open instead of five at others.

Wills says they will be working with the legislature to restore funding. If that doesn’t happen, he says some sites will have to close altogether.
