Severe weather has pelted the Riverbend a few times this year, bringing rain, wind and hail to the area. Godfrey residents subscribed to the Code Red warning system get plenty of advance warning when storms are on the way, according to the Village's Mayor. But a few people say they did not get the heads-up during the most recent storm.

Mike McCormick says if anyone has concerns the system is not working right for them, they should call the village.

McCormick comments

The Code Red notification system automatically calls those who opt in to the program with notification of impending storms very quickly. The system is only used for emergency and life safety purposes, such as drinking water contamination, extended utility outages, fires, floods, or other incidents where rapid and accurate identification is essential for life safety.
