There has been little in the way of official information from Charter Communications regarding a widespread Internet outage over the weekend. Charter customers in several states reported a loss of service on Saturday afternoon and evening before some service was restored.
The Charter call center was reportedly flooded with calls, but many customers said they either waited on hold for long periods of time or could never get through. Others complained on social media about the outage and lack of a reason for the problem and the failure by the company to provide timely updates or details through its own website or social media pages. A message was finally posted to the company Facebook page Sunday evening reporting the outage had been restored.
