Godfrey’s Public Safety Administrator says the region is wrapping up its disaster response to the torrential rains and subsequent flooding.  Chris Sichra says it is important for communities to have a plan in place to document the cost of their response to disasters like that, and believes the cost of the response is getting closer to meeting the minimum requirements for reimbursement.

Sichra tells The Big Z those numbers are close to $1-million in uninsured damages in Madison County, and $18.1-million for the state.

Sichra says he is confident after this first run through during an actual disaster that in case of future disasters, the village will be ready to respond.
