After spending the weekend in jail, a South Roxana man has entered a guilty plea in the death of his daughter. 26-year-old Jeremy W. Pride pleaded guilty to felony endangering the life of a child for allegedly passing out on top of Callie Pride while under the influence of alcohol on November 13, 2011. He has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years probation and has been ordered to complete alcohol treatment and parenting classes.
The Madison County State's Attorney filed charges against Pride last Friday, and he turned himself in that night. Callie Pride died as the result of an overlay situation, according to information released by the Madison County Coroner's Office. Jeremy Pride was legally intoxicated at the time he removed his daughter from her crib to feed her. No charges are pending against Callie's mother.
