Planting is beginning to wrap up in most parts of Illinois, as we hear in the weekly crop report.  Corn planting is about done, with 97% of acres planted and 92% emerged, according to State Crop Statistician Mark Schelusener.

81% of soybeans have been planted and 66% emerged.  98% of winter wheat has headed and 57% of the crop is rated in good to excellent condition.  The first cutting of alfalfa hay is now 67% finished.
