Winter wheat harvesting really picked up as we hear in the weekly crop report.  Hot temps and scattered rain marked the week, and state crop statistician Mark Schleusener says that left plenty of time in the fields.

94% of soybeans have emerged and 7% are blooming.  4% of the corn crop is silking and 71% is rated in good to excellent conditions.  Average statewide topsoil moisture is now rated as 7% very short, 67% adequate, and 5% surplus.
