A soldier with Riverbend roots will be honored this Sunday in a ceremony at his father’s home in Brighton. Army SFC Aaron Grider was killed in action on September 18, 2010, on his 30th birthday while serving his country in Afghanistan. The Mission: American Gratitude organization and its Operation: Let It Wave project will be installing an American Flag at 2pm.
Organization founder Rodney Cook says Grider was killed on his 9th deployment.
