The fall season is here and the Village of Brighton will have a couple of events on consecutive Saturdays to get you in the spirit.  The first one will center around food, while the second one has more of a family festival feel.

Brighton Village Clerk Billie Laubscher says there will be a local favorite on the menu this Saturday at Betsy Ann Park - burgoo - good news if you missed the opportunity to pick some up at this year's Betsy Ann Homecoming.

Laubscher comments

The fish and burgoo will be served this Saturday from 11am until both items are sold out.  Then on Saturday, October 19, it's the annual Frighten Brighton festival at Schneider Park, under the water tower.   There will be a cupcake and cake decorating contest, and an auction of the items with proceeds going back into the fireworks fund.  There will also be a haunted house and costume contest.
