Local tourism officials are gearing up for the fall colors by telling any and all who will listen that the colors are going to be spectacular.  The colors are starting to show themselves across the Riverbend.  While there are a number of popular routes you can take to see the leaves at their peak, most will travel the Great River Road at some point to take in the sights.

Brett Stawar, President of the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau, tells The Big Z the peak of the fall colors may be about a week away.
