You may have forgotten what healthy crops look like. The corn and soybeans in the children’s area of the Illinois State Fair,“Farmer’s Little Helper,” are better-looking than most of the ones out there. “Farmers know that this is a 40 x 40 plot. It’s not a 60-acre farm,” says Amy Bliefnick, manager of the Illinois State Fair. Children planted the crops as part of a school-related event in May.
