Ninety-thousand unemployed Illinois workers will see their benefits stop before the end of the year.  The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation program is set to expire this coming December 29th.  The federal emergency program helps unemployed workers continue benefits beyond the state's initial 25-week program.

Illinois officials say unemployment in this state is nearly 40-percent higher than it was before the recession began.
