The Madison County Partnership To End Homelessness will assemble Wednesday at the Quad City Community Development Center in Madison to conduct its eighth annual Project Homeless Connect event.  Project Homeless Connect is part of a nationwide initiative to conduct a head-count of the homeless, and to provide them with services they may need.

David Harrison of Madison County Community Development, one of the organizers of the event, tells The Big Z a homeless person may not fit the stereotype.

Services will include the distribution of food, beverages and clothing. Participating agencies will also provide medical exams, substance abuse and mental health counseling and legal services. The program will run from 12pm-6pm on Wednesday, January 27.  Transportation to and from the Alton Salvation Army will be provided.  For more information call 692-8940.
