The Legislative Ethics Commission has agreed to look into whether House Speaker Michael Madigan (pictured) and two of his fellow Democrats in the House tried to use clout to interfere with personnel matters at Metra.  Legislative Inspector General Tom Homer will look into whether Madigan tried to exert pressure on Metra CEO Alex Clifford to give a raise for campaign worker Patrick Ward who was making 57-thousand-dollars with Metra.

At the time, the Better Government Association says Ward was collecting pension payments from the city and county totaling nearly 61-thousand-dollars a year.  Ward has since moved on to a state job that pays him about 70-thousand-dollars a year.
