NASCAR is getting green in the American Ethanol 225. The American Ethanol 225 is a new race at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet. Although the race promotes the use of cleaner fuels, Tricia Braid of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board says NASCAR has already been using ethanol fuel for a couple years.

She says the sport is convincing people that ethanol can perform at high levels. “It certainly was one of our goals to demonstrate in a very visible manner to the millions of people who are NASCAR fans who are probably car enthusiasts,” Braid says. The race kicks off on July 21st.
