Lawmakers will return to Springfield after the Fourth of July holiday, and House members may affirm a Senate-passed bill to create an “essential services” budget for the month of July.

“The governor's the one playing politics here, because he refuses to talk about the budget. He just wants to talk about his Turnaround Agenda, which is really a Turn Back Illinois Agenda,” says State Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie), “and we're here to fight for those people who need us.”
