An area lawmaker is hoping to beef up Illinois' Concealed Carry law.  State Senator Sam McCann (R-Carlinville) is sponsoring several Second Amendment-related measures this year, including reciprocity, which allows concealed carry permit holders from other states to legally carry firearms in Illinois.

A second measure expands the list of approved areas where concealed carry is allowed in Illinois to include state and city parks.  A third measure would do away with the state's Firearm Owner's ID, or FOID Card.  All three bills are awaiting assignment to a Senate committee for a public hearing.
