An upcoming volunteer training session is looking for Madison County Residents 18 years old or older that could spring into action in case of emergency. The Madison County Health Department is hosting its next volunteer orientation training on Monday, March 24 at their facility in Wood River.
Madison County Health Department's Amy Yeager, Health Promotion Manager, says volunteers will be critical to getting through the first days of a large-scale disaster.

The Madison County Medical Reserve Corps will be responsible for much of the disaster response as it relates to the possibility of communicable disease. The training on Monday will be from 5:30-7:30pm at the Health Department in Wood River.
