The renovations at Alton's Riverview Park continue, and Ameren Illinois is getting in on the project.  The utility has committed to help the city upgrade the lighting and other electrical items at the park.  Ameren spokesman Brian Bretsch tells The Big Z the Operations Team in Alton assessed the situation at park at the request of the utility's president, and the result is an $18,000 donation to the project.

Riverview Park, which was developed in 1914, is the highest naturally occurring overlook in Alton at 575 feet.  It is located in the historic Christian Hill neighborhood and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
