The aging Eastgate Plaza shopping center may undergo a partial demolition, according to the village’s mayor. Fred Bright feels the center still has potential. But that potential may only be reached with drastic measures, according to Bright.
The plaza is in need of roof repair, and that leaky roof caused Illinois Wholesale Furniture to move out in 2013 after nearly 20 years in the village, according to Bright. He tells The Big Z Julia’s Banquet Center probably would benefit.
