A pair of area parks will be teeming with kids this weekend, as it's time for Easter Egg Hunts to begin around the Riverbend. Saturday, kids in Wood River will gather at the Roundhouse at Central Park, while Glazebrook Park in Godfrey is getting spruced up for this Sunday's big hunt.
In Wood River, activities begin at 10:30am for toddlers through 6th graders, according to Park & Recreation Director Jason Woody.
This is the 12th year in a row Godfrey has teamed up with the Alton - Godfrey Jaycees, according to the Jaycees' John Uhl.
He says in addition to the egg hunt and a visit by the Easter Bunny, there will be rides on the cow train, and you can shoot the corn cannon. The event is for families with children up to age 10. It runs from 2-4pm Sunday, and all activities are free.
