A wastewater operator was appointed and an earlier meeting time was approved by the East Alton Village Board of Trustees at their meeting last night. Also at the meeting the mayor expressed his gratitude to several organizations who pitched in to help with damages due to the recent flooding in the area over the past few weeks.

East Alton Mayor Joe Silkwood says he is proud of the local efforts that were put forth during and after the flooding.

He says the village didn’t do it on their own.
