Eagle watching events dominate the winter in and around the Riverbend, but there is a unique opportunity coming up later this month. On January 28 at 11am, the Treehouse Wildlife Center will release a bald eagle back into the wild, after months of rehabilitation, according to Brett Stawar, President of the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Stawar comments

Swan Lake is located in Brussels, and is part of the Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1958. Stawar says to get there, cross the river on the ferry, and follow the brown signs.
