The nation’s veterans can count on better things ahead from the VA, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) says. “We owe every veteran a lot,” he said after the D-Day observance at the World War 2 memorial in Springfield. “It’s a lesson learned over the debate we’ve had in Washington the last few weeks.”
Durbin says the hospitals need more resources, more medical personnel, and more services. Durbin says he never joined the voices calling for the head of now-former VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.
