U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) says the Republicans who control the U.S. House ought to negotiate the Affordable Care Act without shutting down the federal government. “That is kind of a threat, and, unfortunately, it doesn’t show any courage on their part,” Durbin said this morning. “It’s not courageous to sacrifice some federal worker’s job or the services of our government to show how strong and committed you are.”
