You can expect to see more cops out on the roads over the holidays. Local and state police and the Illinois Department of Transportation have launched their holiday traffic enforcement campaign, which includes plenty of visibility, according to Alton Police Sgt. Mike Gordon.
Gordon tells the Big Z the holidays are a time when there are more people on the roads that may be under the influence.

The statewide holiday enforcement period will run through January 4 and feature beefed up patrols, roadside safety checks, and seatbelt enforcement zones.
