A former St. Clair County judge is headed to prison for two years. Michael Cook's attorneys agreed to an 18-month sentence when he'd pleaded guilty to drug charges back in November, but the judge overseeing the case rejected the deal last month.
He was sentenced Friday to 24 months in prison and three years of supervised release. He'll also pay more than 75-thousand dollars in fines and other costs. It's not clear when he'll begin his sentence.
