Alton Police joined with members of the ILEAS Task Force Thursday morning to raid a suspected drug house near the corner of Sering Avenue and Residence Street. The house is about a block north of Broadway. Several people were taken into custody.
Alton Police Chief of Detectives, Lieutenant Scott Golike, says the house came to their attention through the Nuisance Abatement Task Force.
At least 11 people call the house a home. Five are children. They have been placed with other family members while the adults from the house continue to be questioned. Charges could be filed as early as today, according to Golike. He declined to say what they seized during the raid.
