A recent drug sweep in Brighton has resulted in the arrest of at least four suspects, although the police chief declined to say exactly how many.  They do not appear to be a part of an organized group, and are scattered around town, according to Brighton Police Chief Pete Levertt.

He tells The Big Z the arrests were the result of collaboration with the South Central Illinois Drug task Force.

The names of those arrested have not yet been released.  Levertt says cash, a handgun, at least three different types of prescription medication and over $10,000 worth of “high grade marijuana” were seized.  Levertt says you can provide tips on drug activity by calling the Brigton Police Department at 372-4207.
