A 31-year-old man is charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance following his arrest early Saturday at a Godfrey motel. Michael J. Roberts of the 7,400 block of Frontage Road in Worden was charged after deputies allegedly found several small bags of cocaine packaged for sale in his room.
Captain Mike Dixon of the Madison County Sheriff's Department says the department got a complaint of possible drug activity Friday night.
He says there has not been a lot of drug-related activity reported at the Hiway House, and points out that those who are going to engage in this type of behavior can use hotels and motels of any size, style or price point. Bond for Roberts (pictured) is set at $75,000. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis.
