More than 100-thousand drivers may have filled their tanks with bad gas from BP. The company issued a recall on the regular unleaded gas sold mainly in Northwest Indiana, but also parts of Chicago and the Milwaukee area between August 13th and 17th. More than two million gallons of the tainted fuel were shipped out to the stations during that time.
Officials say the gas contained higher than normal levels of polymeric residue, which has caused the vehicles to have trouble starting. Anyone who may have purchased the bad gas should call BP's customer hot line at 800-333-3991. Gas claims may also be filed at firstname.lastname@example.org.
