Most all area students are back in school, but that doesn’t mean motorists should let their guard down when they are not traveling through a school zone.  Local, county, and State Police are reminding drivers to be wary of distracted drivers, and to not engage in activity that makes you one of them. 

Illinois State Police Education Officer Calvin Dye Jr. says he hopes all drivers will remember one key tip - to pay attention to their surroundings.

Dye says to remember it's illegal for anyone to speed, talk on a cell phone while driving, or to text while driving.
