With periods of snow in the forecast over the next several days, state officials want you to be ready for winter road conditions.  Illinois State Police Trooper Heath Bryan says motorists need to slow down when the roads are bad, and give snow plow drivers plenty of room to do their job.

He says to make sure you are always wearing your seatbelt, be aware of the possibility of black ice, and slow down when approaching intersections, on and off-ramps, and bridges.  You can check online for winter road conditions when the weather gets bad through this link: www.gettingaroundillinois.com
