A former Alton Alderman will be taking the place of a retiring Madison County Board member on the November ballot.  Jim Dodd served the city as an elected official for 16 years, and will now seek election to the board, after Peggy Voumard announced that she will retire at the end of her current term instead of seeking re-election.

Dodd says Democratic precinct committeemen from District 9 made the decision over the weekend.

Dodd comments

Voumard, who is currently completing her second term, ran unopposed in the Democratic primary earlier this year and was scheduled to face Republican Don Metzler in the November election for the District 9 seat.
