It was another "housekeeping" night for the Alton City Council Committee of the Whole on Monday.  Contract language is still being worked out between the city and Madison County Transit as it relates to the Multi Modal Transportation Center, so that item was laid over again, but there were several temporary street closures and demolitions that were approved.

Demolition bids were approved for properties at 1109, 1120, and 1141 Long Avenue, 1209 Garden Street, and 2308 Sunset Street.  Temporary street closures were approved for the Marquette High School Homecoming, St. Mary's Oktoberfest, and the Webster Church Family Fall Festival.  The Marquette Homecoming will result in the closure of 4th Street in front of the KC Hall from 8am September 23 to 8am September 25; the Webster Church Family Fall Festival will close Webster from Highland to Hampton Streets from 9am to 5pm October 1; and the St. Mary's Oktoberfest will close 3rd Street between Langdon and Henry Street and Langdon Street between 3rd Street and 4th Street from 7am October 7 until 3pm October 10.
