Today is the deadline for state agencies to submit a report to the Governor's Office of Management and Budget about contracts, grants and personnel decisions from the past few months.  Tim Nuding, Governor Bruce Rauner’s Budget Director, said last week that the Governor is ready to “take the arrows” for making the decision to freeze non-essential spending.

A memo from the Management and Budget Director with the deadline also says executive state agencies are only to pay a grant if it’s solely from federal funds, executed by a Constitutional Officer other than the Governor or Lieutenant Governor, or for capital projects where construction has already begun and equipment purchased.
