A competition for budding entrepreneurs is nearing the end of the submission period. The SIUE 2014 Metro East Start-Up Challenge Business Plan Competition will take its final entries on Friday, February 21. The entry deadline was extended due to what the director of the Metro East Small Business Development Center says is a strong overall interest and a large number of partially completed entries.
The $15,000 cash prize business plan competition is looking for business ideas in three growing industries: information technology, manufacturing, and health care. Development Center Director Patrick McKeehan says this competition is not unlike the show “Shark Tank.”
