Next Thursday marks the 64th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer, which invites people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The idea is to pray for America's families and leaders, defend the religious freedoms granted by the Constitution, and foster unity. The event will be marked with an observance at Alton Square Mall May 7th at 8:30am.
The Rotary Club of the Riverbend is the host for the event, and past President Lori Ehlers who is also manager of Alton Square, says the ceremony will be fairly simple.
