A motorcycle with a hearse behind it provided the visual in a Springfield cemetery, as the Illinois Department of Transportation joined police and motorcycle groups to remind everyone about safety. The black three-wheeled cycle and the hearse both bear the logo of a local funeral home.“There are two funeral homes just in Springfield alone that offer those services,” said Bruce Liebe, president of the Lincoln Land chapter of the motorcycle group ABATE.

“Between the hours of (3 and 9 p. m.), for the five-year period (2007-2011), nearly 30 percent of all drunk-driving fatalities involve a drunk motorcycle rider,” said John Webber, interim director of traffic safety for IDOT.
