Fall is here, and taking in the fall colors is a favorite pastime of many visitors and locals alike. Typically the peak of the color season for our area is in late October and sometimes into November, but with the severe drought this summer, that target may be a moving one. The staff at the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau President is ready for the cooler temperatures and spectacular colors, having recently publishing its 2012 Fall Getaway Guide.

The meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway from Alton to Grafton was recently named one of the 50 Most Comfortable Touring Drives for fall colors by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and America's Byways.
