Fall is here, and taking in the fall colors is a favorite pastime of many visitors and locals alike.  Typically the peak of the color season for our area is in late October and sometimes into November.  The staff at the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau is ready for the cooler temperatures and spectacular colors, having recently published its 2015 Fall Getaway Guide.

Alton CVB President Brett Stawar tells The Big Z he believes the peak of the fall colors is still more than a month away.

Stawar says the Fall Guide has been distributed, and has tips on where to go to see the best colors, and other fall events like tours and haunted attractions.  About 20,000 were mailed and another 10,000 placed at local businesses and attractions.   The guides are also available at the Visitor’s Center and at www.VisitAlton.com
