With record low temperatures forecasted for the Riverbend over the next few days, utility companies are encouraging their customers to form outage safety plans incase of outages. Southwestern Electric Cooperative is stationing linemen on site, around the clock, prepared to respond to outage calls immediately.

The cooperative is also urging customers to develop an outage safety plan that includes checking to make sure your generator works if you have one. If you don’t officials recommend making an outage kit that includes battery-operated flashlights, blankets, canned goods, any medications you may need and a weather radio.
