The Citizens Utility Board is an advocate for Illinois utility customers, which means most every resident could benefit from its help. Established by the Illinois General Assembly in 1983, the nonpartisan organization has a mission of representing residential utility customers. It now has an office in Southern Illinois to augment the main base of operations in Chicago.
C-U-B Spokesman Jim Chilsen says they try to do the best they can in fighting utility rate increases and saving people money on their current bills, and the new office in Hillsboro will help them stay connected to people in the southern part of the state.

Chilsen says this office will be geared toward outreach – booking events such as utility-bill clinics, speaking engagements, or attendance at community events such as community fairs. To learn more, call 1-800-669-5556, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
