A few weeks ago Ameren announced it would be requesting $110-million in delivery rate hikes in Illinois.  The Illinois Commerce Commission is in charge of approving any increases, and one of the state’s best-known watchdogs is challenging the need for such a hike.

As Ameren moves forward with the building of its “Smart Grid,” the Citizen's Utility Board has vowed to keep a close eye on requests for additional rate hikes.  CUB Spokesman Jim Chilsen tells The Big Z consumers deserve reliable electric service
