Tough economic times have made the holiday season harder for many Illinoisans. Those hardest hit often turn to organizations like Alton's Crisis Food Center for their holiday meals. Crisis Food Center Executive Director Susan Jolley says they are already feeding as many as 60 families every day and that the number will only climb as Christmas draws closer.

Jolley says that any donations are appreciated but that monetary donations are the most helpful. She says that money is used to buy items like eggs, chicken and the other things that make up a balanced meal. To make a donation contact the Crisis Food Center at 462-8201.
