A couple of lawmakers in the House want to investigation the impacts of work camps with a task force they hope to create through a resolution.  Republican Representative Terri Bryant has filed a resolution that would create the Task Force on Work Camp Rehabilitation to study and determine the effectiveness of work camps and conduct evidence-based analysis of current camps versus other forms of incarceration.

The task force would also work to evaluate the effectiveness of educational, job training and community service options of work camps and other transitional programs in reducing recidivism, decreasing the prison population and improving public safety. Democratic Representative Brandon Phelps is listed as a chief co-sponsor.
