The 24th Olde Alton Arts and Crafts Fair will be held this weekend at Alton High School. From 9am-5pm today and 10am-4pm tomorrow, visitors will be able to browse the nearly 200 crafters' tables just in time for Christmas. Admission is $2 today, while it's just a dollar to get in that Sunday. This is one of the top fundraisers of the year for the Alton Band and Orchestra Builders, or ABOB.
The event is a major fundraiser for ABOB. Event spokesman Ed Gray says in addition to the items for sale, there will be attendance prizes all weekend.
Breakfast will be served both days an hour before the fair begins, and lunch will also be available. Children under 12 are admitted free, but strollers are not recommended. A shuttle bus will be running throughout the Alton High parking lot for those that would like a free ride to the front door.
